The Miyar Mufflers refined collection has been handcrafted from shear-to-stitch by farmer-artisans using wool from their own sheep. The result is three categories of meticulously knitted products: scarves, mufflers, and throws.

Natural Colours

Our  yarn uses only the natural hues of the sheep – black, brown, grey, and white.

The main body of each muffler, scarf, or  throw features a unique combination of the colours, while the border has a contrasting colour adding a distinctive touch.

The individual variety of each piece depends on the mixture of natural colours in the carding and then in the spinning. It will also depend on the individual knitter’s preference.

Warmth

Because the Miyar Sheep live at high altitudes their wool is rich in lanoline. This means that our mufflers are exceptionally warm. Drawing inspiration from traditional Scottish sweaters, the mufflers are knitted in moss stitch, which means the textile is particularly flexible and ensures maximum insulation by trapping air within the fibres.
